Jealousy is among the most treacherous emotions we experience as individuals. It can destroy relationships, bring about emotional misery, produce physical signs and symptoms, and entirely ruin your life if you} let it. This is not to say that if you?ve been cheated on or lied to that your jealousy isn?t justified.? But self-esteem still affects the jealousy and how you handle it. The lower our self-esteem, the more probable we are to react using jealousy in any situation where we may sense we are inferior in any way.? And by its very definition, low self-esteem implies that we feel inferior.

So we should understand that if we were cheated upon, that it is not our fault and we should not make it possible for that to reduce our opinion of ourselves. It?s not your fault if your boyfriend?s a jerk. Or if the girl you?re dating is the kind to run around, that?s on her, not on you, and your self-esteem should not suffer for it.

Do things that make you feel great about yourself.? Think about all the terrific qualities you have.? Do something each day that?s just good for YOU,? something that makes you feel good about yourself and then start improving your self esteem. This will help you tremendously in your battle to overcome jealousy.
